KC (calling): Athens ar, the hotel rate is one night 180, since there is four of us, it would be 45 per person per night.

Athens( calculating): Err, means 90 per person since we are staying for two nights.....wah! so expensive. no no no~~~

Actually it is not that expensive. It's a good hotel and breakfast will be provided. But being athens who have spent a great deal buying stuff to go overseas, she wanted a super budget stay. She started searching online and found Ringo's Foyer Guesthouse.

Basic 4 dorm with fan: rm13 per person per night.

She was delighted! 13x2=26! The lesser she spends on accommodation, the more she can spend on food! She spent some time persuading the rest to take the cheap room instead of hotel room. Hehe.

The day came. Four of them were in the car. They found an old shoplot row with paints coming out. Where's the guesthouse? Athens called the owner of the guesthouse.

Then they spotted that middle-aged guy, standing by the window, not wearing a shirt and simply throwing a singlet over the shoulder.

They were scared. Athens prayed that they would not encounter something dangerous/ weird since it seemed to be if anything goes wrong, athens would have to take the blame for choosing the guesthouse. 4 girls still walked up the stairs and entered the guesthouse.

The guesthouse turned out to be a nice one!
They chose another room with aircon instead because the one with aircon is 60 per room per night, meaning 15 per person per night. The room have only 3 beds, rm10 for extra mattress. They did not take an extra mattress however (oh dear, so jimat!)

The middle-aged guy Howard and the assistant Sam turned out to be very friendly and helpful. He recommended us a few nice restaurants to dine in. He drew a map for us to get to the famous satay celup shops. He introduced us to the other foreign travelers but we didn't get enough time to know them as we were always out in the move.

The location was great as it is very very near to Jonker Street. This is great for you could go 'pasar malam-ing' and walk back to the guesthouse. It is within walking distance to many local delicacies ( San Shu Gong's durian cendol, chicken rice ball etc) and historical sites of Malacca ( i.e., Stadhyuts, St Francis Xavier Church).

There was a French guy who stayed in the guesthouse playing guitar at night.
He sang us a few lines of a chinese song, it went something like I want to fly, fly very high.......You guys don't know this song? A chinese guy taught me.
We showed our blur faces. What song is that?
He was disappointed. Haha.

It was indeed a nice stay in the guesthouse. Great hospitality. Very convenient.
